Rebekah is a counseling intern currently pursuing her Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) at NC State University. She has a special passion for walking alongside people living with chronic illness, helping them find hope, strength, and meaning even in the most challenging moments.
Having faced her own health challenges, including ulcerative colitis in her twenties and more recently PCOS, Rebekah understands firsthand how illness can affect every part of life: how we see ourselves, connect with others, and move through the world. These experiences shaped her deep belief in the mind-body connection and the significant influence our physical health has on our emotional well-being.
Rebekah knows what it’s like to feel dismissed by the healthcare system, to worry about being judged for setting boundaries, or to carry the weight of advocating for yourself when no one else seems to listen. That’s why she is passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel genuinely heard and understood. Her approach is gentle, non-judgmental, and empowering. She wants clients to feel free to unpack their story at their own pace.
Before beginning her journey in counseling, Rebekah earned a Master’s degree in English Literature, where she explored mental health themes through stories and writing. That love for words and meaning continues to influence her counseling work today.
Rebekah believes that supporting people with chronic illness isn’t just part of her training, it’s her calling.
